As the rate of media available today increases and the many formats it comes to us as eg. Vcds, Dvds, Vhs, Lds, Games Playstation. There will also be a demanding factor to make a backup copy of it.

Why Copy you ask? It got lost, the dog destroyed it, brain dead friends who did not have any memory borrowing it from you in the first place!? The fact is, having a copy of any media has become a necessity. Anything can happen to it. It's just a matter of time. Isn't that copyrighting? It depends on how you perceive it, if you ask me; It's for my personal backup and I, as the purchaser has every right to do so! No dept store is going to give you another fresh DVD of the shelf for free because you simply lost it. And that is the cost for just one. I don't know about you, but nobody I know has only a single movie at home. How much you're going to spend making backup of all your movies games etc..? Some shops I've encountered even Refuse to do it! They put up small but visible signs hanging over their head saying "No Copyright Please."

The better and cost efficient way is to do it your self! D.I.Y is the way to go. Ever tried copying a DVD from your PC? I know I tried that once... it's a waste of effort. Hey! But at least I've tried. I got an error box displaying "Unrecognizable Media". So I searched thru the Net and found that to make backup of a DVD you require a DVD burner. Wow. That's great.
