Unknown Error 1415 when recovering iPod
- by Simpson
iTunes is an application developed by Apple, for entertainment purposes. It enables users to buy and play music, videos, audio books etc. They can be purchased from the iTunes store and then stored on your system and heard/watched whenever you want.
The other very major role of iTunes is acting as an interface between the computer and an iPod. Often when we connect the two, errors pop up on the screen.
Most of these errors can easily be resolved, but in doing so, we tend to lose all the data stored in iTunes. This includes all the songs which were stored on it as well as other things like videos, podcasts, playlists etc. As opposed to a common misconception, all this data can be retrieved using an iPod recovery software.
A common example of this kind of a problem is when you connect your iPod to the system and iTunes freezes, or your iPod gets locked. Almost all iPod errors can be resolved by restoring the iPod/iTunes. This step is also not without problems.
Often when you try to restore the iPod, you face problems. Like in the above case, when you connect the iPod to the system to restore it, you get the following error message:
"An unknown error has occurred 1415"
This problems usually arises when you are trying to restore/update an iPod, using a version of iTunes that is not the current version.
To resolve this problem, try the following steps:
Reconnect the iPod to iTunes and then try restoring it again.
Restart the computer and then again try to restore the iPod.
Disable and enable the Disk Use on the iPod and then restore it.
Change the connection point (use a different USB port) and then try restoring it.
Ensure that the iPod is the only USB connected to the computer.
Update/Restore the Windows USB drive.
Re-register .dll files in Windows.
Once you have been able to successfully restore the iPod, you can use an iPod recovery software to recover iPod data. It is used to scan the iPod hard disk and then recover iPod data that has been deleted or lost. These software can be downloaded from the Internet.
Stellar Phoenix iPod Recovery is an example of such a simple and easy-to-use software. It can easily be downloaded from the Internet, and used to swiftly and efficiently recover iPod data of any kind. This is possible because Phoenix iPod data recovery supports MPEG, GIF, MIDI, M4A etc file types.
