/> Ardfield is a small hamlet located in the West Cork region of the Province of Munster, Ireland, near the coast between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery and close to Galley Head. According to the 2006 Census, Ardfield had a population of 670. Ardfield is part of the Roman Catholic parish of Ardfield/Rathbarry.

Local amenities include a church, post office and pub. The centre of the village is located within five minutes drive of several beaches, including Red Strand, Sandscove and Dunnycove.

Sport

P.D. Mehigan, better known as 'Carbery', played hurling for London in the early 1900s and was the leading GAA jornalist from the 1920s until the 1940s.

Every August Bank holiday weekend, Ardfield hosts the Sandyscove Fishing Competition.

Ardfield is home to St. James' Gaelic Athletic Association club, which competes at Junior A level Football and Hurling. In 2005, the club enjoyed its most successful year yet, winning both West Cork Junior B Football and Junior B Hurling titles, reaching the county semi-final in the Cork Junior B Football Championship and taking the Cork Junior B Hurling Championship title. In the spring of 2006, St James won the newly established Munster championship and reached the All Ireland Final.

Ardfield has an active tennis club, at present there are two floodlit all weather courts. During the summer months tournaments are organised for children and adult members.

Ardfield Soccer Club was formed in 1987. They compete in the West Cork League. Next season they will be taking their place in the Premier Division having achieved promotion in 2007/08. Ardfield Rathbarry Rowing Club was formed in 1984 and has since become better known as the Galley Flash, after the clubs first boat. The club is based in Kilkern lake, where it bases its training and hosts the annual regatta each June Bank Holiday weekend. The training season begins in March each year with the racing season occurring from June to August. The club is a member of the Irish Coastal Rowing Federation and has been very successful in the annual All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships throughout the years.
